On a warm, spring day in May, Caroline and Robin were to be married at South Farm and Jude Middleton Photography was there to capture the day for them. They wanted a simple, elegant, traditional and personal day, which is reflected in their images. Our bride and groom chose white flowers (by Wildwood Florists), blue suits and red ties, with an elegant white cake (by The Cake House) adorned with flowers to decorate the farm, in keeping with their desire for simple elegance. Caroline’s dress, a halter-neck by Pronovias, was the perfect choice.
The preparations were supervised by the most magnificent white peacock, along with other farm animals (little piggies and ducklings) because, of course, South Farm is a working farm and the weddings happen right in the middle of everything. The ceremony took place in the old dairy, because it was a little rainy in the early part of the day. The weather soon cleared, however, and drinks and portraits were enjoyed in the beautiful gardens. Afterwards, the party moved into the barn for dinner and the speeches and, of course, dancing into the night.

South Farm is an enchanting and distinctly different venue for romantic country weddings. The beautiful old farmhouse of Tudor origins flanks a fine barnyard of three ancient listed timber framed barns, a granary, old dairy, hovels and stables, all lovingly restored, and home to their friendly rare breed farm animals. Idyllic gardens encircle the buildings giving way to a productive organic smallholding, a nature reserve and woodland, 30 acres in all. Contact them here for more information.
